200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Our program is steeped in the Tantric Hatha Yoga Philosophy but is also created from adult learning models. We thread together asana, anatomy, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, relaxation, observation, and hands-on assisting as well as reading and working with groups and individuals.
The training is taught over nine intensive weekends with a class size of no more than 24 students. This format allows students time to integrate the material, complete homework and prepare for assigned practice-teach sessions.In the first half of the program, students will learn effective methodologies for teaching postures, pranayamas and centerings. Students will also learn about the history and philosophy of the Tantra Hatha Yoga tradition.In the second half of the program, students will learn to design and lead three kinds of classes: a vinyasa workout class, a meditative posture class, and a gentle stretch class.
One must meet the following requirements to take our program:
- Have at least one year of yoga practice (at least six months of classes with a certified instructor.)
- Have the ability to demonstrate an experiential understanding of yoga practice and its benefits.
The Pranakriya Basic 200-hour YTT is registered with the Yoga Alliance and meets or exceeds all its requirements for 200-hour teacher training programs.

Basic Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training
For yoga teachers who have completed a 200-hour training and midwives/doulas with a strong yoga practice.
Become confident, qualified, and comfortable leading prenatal yoga classes in this training that teaches appropriate asana, assists, pranayama, sounding, and meditation for each stage of pregnancy. Every day of the training begins with a prenatal yoga class in which you wear “pregnant bellies” for each trimester to simulate the experience of moving in a pregnant body. The yoga class is followed by theory, practical application, and practice teaching.
Topics covered in this program include
- Fetal development
- Physiological and hormonal changes in the mother’s body during each trimester, and her body’s responses to these changes
- Pregnancy discomforts during each stage and the yoga practices, non-traditional methods, and traditional techniques that can alleviate these discomforts.
Jacci Gruninger also offers tips on labor and birth, partner prenatal yoga, and how to market your classes.

Gentle Yoga Teacher Training
Living and being with our bodies is a tall order. Sitting back and witnessing our experience takes time and practice. Today’s body is hurried, overworked, under exercised, stressed and depleted. When exercise does occur, it is quick, vigorous and sweat-producing. We each have an opportunity to develop a unique relationship with our body through movement, breath and meditation.
This Gentle Yoga Teacher Training shows us another way to connect with ourselves through the subtle and the quiet. We do this by learning to listen, slowing down and paying attention. Gentle yoga is a the bridge between moving slowly and staying still.
This program will look at various ways to teach Gentle Yoga to a wide variety of populations. We will cover practices for more-able-bodied students, chair practices and floor practices of exploration. Pranayama and meditation will also be discussed.
20 CEUs with Yoga Alliance are provided with this training.

Restorative yoga is a gentle, inward form of yoga that invites participants to move towards greater balance, control and awareness in their lives. The participant’s body is placed in yoga postures that are supported with props. The mind is invited to slow down with the use of pranayama, visualization and mantra, allowing the individual to turn inside. A restorative practice complements any yoga practice or other form of exercise and is perfect for almost any practitioner looking to experience a deeper state of relaxation and healing than Savasana or sleep. It is also a perfect practice for those recovering from injury or illness, or anyone who experiences stress on a daily basis.
In this weekend-long restorative yoga training created from the Tantric Hatha Yoga Teachings and the work of Herbert Benson and Jon Kabat Zinn, participants will gain practical, hands-on experience and skills to work with a wide range of populations. The program will include posture practice, pranayama, meditation, mantra, mudra, visualization, and use of props to create a safe/comfortable/healing environment. Participants will leave the training confident in their ability to understand the philosophy and science behind restorative yoga as well as be self-assured in their aptitude to lead their students through a complete, restorative yoga practice.
