Rest & Restore: A Restorative & Yin Yoga Workshop
Restorative and Yin are two sides of the same coin although very different practices. This 2-hour practice will start with breath work and easy movement and then dive into a Yin oriented practice. Yin works to relax and lengthen the fascia which resides throughout the entire body. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes to stimulate ligaments and fascia through traction and compression of joint tissues. Even though it is call Yin, it really is more of an active Yang type practice. We will follow this active practice with some easy movement and then a Restorative Yoga practice to soften the body through the support of props and deep rest. Students will leave feeling relaxed and nourished in body, mind and spirit. No experience necessary.
