Itinerary:
Day 1 — Arrival & Madrid Art Colony
From the airport travel the famous Turquoise Trail to Madrid, the town where Wild Hogs was filmed. From the late 19th century to the middle of the 20th this was an important coal mining center. When the coal mines closed in 1954, it became a ghost town. In the 1970s the town was resurrected as an art colony. We’ll enjoy a casual lunch and visit the local artist’s galleries and shops.
After visiting Madrid, we will continue on to Santa Fe and check into the Santa Fe Sage Inn (santafesageinn.com) and enjoy a relaxing yoga class followed by dinner.
Day 2 — Tent Rocks & Santa Fe Plaza
Join us for morning yoga at Santa Fe Soul and then we’ll travel to Cochiti for a 3-mile hike around Tent Rocks and a picnic lunch. We’ll return to the hotel, rest a bit and traverse downtown to the Santa Fe Plaza to see the St. Francis Cathedral, Loretto Chapel and Steps, and more art galleries. You may even want to visit a local wine tasting spot. We’ll enjoy dinner downtown together followed by a visit to the Kakawa Chocolate House for a history of chocolate and a tasting of chocolate drinks.
Day 3 — Georgia O’Keefe Museum and Home Tour
Morning yoga followed by breakfast and a tour of the Georgia O’Keefe Museum. After we’ve visited the museum we will head up to Abiquiu for lunch at the Abiquiu Inn and a tour of Georgia O’Keefe’s house and Ghost Ranch.
Day 4 — Explore Taos
After a short 50 minute drive north, we’ll visit the Taos Pueblo and the galleries of Taos. We’ll enjoy a yoga class at the Santé Studio, dinner at Copa de Oro and then meet with local artist Signe Stuart to create our own art project around a symbol of who we are.
Day 5 — Ojo Caliente

After breakfast we’ll travel to Ojo Caliente for an easy 4 mile hike to Joseph’s Mine. After our hike we’ll enjoy lunch at the Ojo Caliente Spa and Resort and soak away any tension or tightness in the mineral and mud pools. Steam baths and saunas are also an option. After a brief rest at the hotel we’ll enjoy our last yoga class together and dinner at the Cowgirl Café.
Day 6 — Breakfast & Departure
After visiting the famous Harry’s Roadhouse for breakfast we will depart for the Albuquerque airport and say “hasta luego”.
